Phase II of the Tampa Interstate Study consists of relocating up to 29 additional historic buildings out of the path of the ultimate footprint for widening I-4 through the Ybor City and Tampa Heights historic neighborhoods. Prior to relocation, each house is documented to HABS standards. Preservation Resource, Inc. prepares site and foundation plansfor each relocation, taking care to maintain setting, orientation, setbacks and foundation type and height as feasible. Once relocated, the buildings are deeded to the City of Tampa and then sold via RFP to individuals with the stipulation that they be rehabilitated according to The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation on the exterior within two years. Grants and loans are made available through the City of Tampa's Interstate Historic Preservation Trust Fund Loan and Grant Programs which were created as part of Phase I of the project.
